Linda
has been active in the Pedorthic community for over 20 years. She graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from
Waterloo University(Co-op program), and remains active with the Pedorthic Association of Canada where she has held
several chair positions. Linda was initially a franchised pedorthic owner, then a Canadian shoe company owner, and then once
again, a new independent Pedorthic clinic owner with Stand Your Ground. She has been an instructor with the Diploma
Program in Pedorthics, through University of Western Ontario since its inception. Linda currently teaches the "Footwear
and Footwear Modifications" course online. She is an avid guest lecturer for local groups as well as for Queen's University.
Personally, Linda remains active as a wife, mother and sports enthusiast with her participation in local sports clubs such as soccer and ball hockey.
Amy is a Canadian Certified Pedorthist. She joined the Stand Your Ground team in May 2009 and completed her two year apprenticeship with Linda, becoming fully certified in May 2011. After completing her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology (Honours) at Brock University, she moved back to her hometown of Kingston to explore the health care field and discovered the world of Pedorthics. She is currently an active member on the Pedorthic Association's Communication and Social committees. Amy also likes to stay active year-round, with activities such as boating, camping, golfing, snowmobiling, and ball hockey.
Before joining Stand Your Ground, Jennifer was a trusted advisor in the financial services sector. She oversees the office procedures and bookkeeping. She is developing her lab skills in cast preparation and fabrication. Jennifer is involved in several
community fundraisers.
After several years in the business world, and most recently in an administrative support role at a physiotherapy clinic, Theresa has found her niche assisting our clients by scheduling appointments and helping them to choose great shoes. When not busy with her husband and three teenagers, Theresa enjoys gardening, sewing, and knitting.
The newest addition here at Stand Your Ground, Matt is responsible for keeping everything running smoothly in the lab. He has his Bachelors degree in Human Kinetics from the University of Windsor, specializing in Movement Science. Currently he is working on completing the required hours before he can write the certification exam to become a Canadian Certified Pedorthic Technician.
A Kingston native, Sarah has just completed her third year at Queen's University majoring in Psychology after spending two years studying Kinesiology. Her active lifestyle includes cross-country running, hockey, soccer, and yoga. Sarah has been with Stand Your Ground for two years now and utilizes her knowledge of sports injuries when helping our clients find the perfect brace.
